While mainland firms see a file number, we see a neighbour.
Ember Migration is the
boots on the ground
service Tasmania needs.

The Ember Difference

Tired of the big 'supermarket' approach to migration?

Like your local Farmer's Market, we prioritize quality over volume.

You get direct access to the experts for a lower fixed price than the mainlanders.

The Big Firms

The "Clerk" Shuffle

Your case is passed between junior staff and admin assistants.

The "Black Hole"

Waiting weeks for an email reply or a status update. You make the effort to contact them.

The "Hourly" Anxiety

Fear of opening an invoice for every 5-minute phone call. You'll find extra fees in the small print.

The Ember Way

Direct Access

You work exclusively with the owners, Eric and Alyssia, from start to finish.

Peace of Mind

We've been in your shoes and won't leave you wondering. We make the effort to contact you.

Fixed-Fee Certainty

We keep our costs low so we can pass this on.

One clear fixed price. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Your Journey Matters

  • For over ten years, we have called the Huon Valley home. We’ve raised our son on our hobby farm down near Cygnet, and we’ve watched the Tasmanian landscape and economy evolve. When you work with us, you aren’t dealing with a distant office on the mainland; you’re talking to neighbours who understand the unique rhythm of life and business in Tasmania.

  • Alyssia Hunter is Ember's Registered Migration Agent (RMA) taking the lead on Work Visas. She has a background in education and university administration. Her paperwork is precise and she can explain the complex legal requirements to you in plain English.

  • Ember Migration believes in a "boots on the ground" approach. With Alyssia, you have a steady hand and a local advocate dedicated to making your transition into the Tasmanian workforce seamless.

A Reliable Partner for

Tasmanian Employers

Finding the right talent shouldn't be a hurdle to your business growth. We partner with local employers to navigate the 482, 494, and 186 visa streams, taking the administrative weight off your desk so you can focus on running your business.

Strategic

Choice

Alyssia helps you determine whether a temporary 482 or a regional-focused 494 is the best fit for your specific vacancy and long-term goals.

01

Ensuring

Compliance

We manage the labour market and salary threshold testing (TSMIT/CSIT) to ensure your nomination is robust and meets all federal standards.

02

Face to

Face Meetings

We won't be a stranger; we’re happy to travel from Hobart to meet you at your place of business—whether that’s a workshop, an office, or an orchard.

03

Tasmania

First

We understand the local economy. Because we know the specific skills shortages facing our state, we can better justify your needs to the Department.

Your Path to Working in the Apple Isle

The First Step: To apply for a 482, 494, or 186 visa, you must have a formal job offer from a Tasmanian employer willing to sponsor you. Please note: We are migration experts, not recruiters. We cannot find a job for you, but once you have an employer, we make the legal process seamless.

What if I don't have a sponsor? If you don't have a job offer yet, your journey likely starts with State Nomination (Subclasses 190 or 491) or the Skilled Independent visa (Subclass 189). These are "points-based" visas where the Government—rather than a specific boss—invites you to live and work here.

Employer Sponsored
(The 482, 494, 186 Path)

A clear path to residency for those with a job offer.

  1. Employer Eligibility. We assess your sponsor to ensure they meet the Standard Business Sponsor requirements.

  2. The Nomination. Alyssia manages the business’s application to "nominate" your specific position.

  3. Skills Assessment. Where a skills assessment is required, we streamline the process.

  4. The Visa Application. Once the nomination is underway, we lodge your visa application.

State Nominated
(The 190 & 491 Path)

Improve your chances in the points and ranking system.

  1. Skills Assessment & English. This is the foundation of your application. You must be "work-ready" before the state will consider you.

  2. Expression of Interest (EOI). We tell the Tasmanian Government exactly why you are a perfect fit for our state.

  3. The Invitation. If Tasmania selects you, you receive a formal invitation to apply for your visa.

  4. The Visa Application. Once you have received an invitation, we lodge your visa application.

Tasmania's Ranking System
& National Points

Both the State and Federal Skilled Visas rely on a points-based system.  These are highly competitive and require clear, careful planning to improve the chances of receiving an invitation.
