We Can Help.
We'd love to have you here.
All of us at Ember have lived overseas at some point, so we get what it’s like to move to a new country. The excitement, the nerves, the paperwork… it’s a lot. But it can also be one of the best things you ever do.
One thing we all miss from our time abroad is the feeling of being part of something new and exciting. That’s a big reason we do what we do. We want to help more people bring their skills, their dreams, and their unique experiences to Australia.
Whether you're coming for study, work, family we're here to make the visa side of things easier. No fuss, no pressure - just honest help from people who actually care.
We’d love to have you here.

Who
We
Are
-
We got our start at the University of Tasmania—where the idea for Ember was born between conversations, applications, and a shared vision for doing things better.
-
We’re all parents. Between us, we’ve got three kids, a lot of lunchboxes, and a deep understanding of what it means to build a future for your family.
-
We’ve lived abroad and love to travel. We know what it’s like to be far from home, navigating new systems—and we bring that empathy into every client conversation.
-
Ember began with a shared goal. Huyen and Alyssia studied for their migration law qualification side-by-side, driven by a desire to raise the bar in the industry.
-
We speak your language—literally. Huyen is fluent in Vietnamese and English, Alyssia speaks some Korean, and Eric knows a bit of Chinese. Communication matters, and we’re always learning.
-
We truly love what we do. This isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. We’re here to make your visa journey smoother, smarter, and just a little bit warmer.
Our Story
Guiding Your Journey with Care, Clarity, and Confidence
Ember Education and Migration was born from a shared passion for helping students succeed—and a strong desire to do things better.
While working in University Admissions at the University of Tasmania, Huyen and Alyssia reviewed hundreds of student applications. Again and again, they noticed something troubling: applications were incomplete, inaccurate, or poorly supported. Students were relying on migration support that often missed the mark. It wasn’t just frustrating—it was unfair.
Determined to make a difference, Huyen and Alyssia enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Migration Law and Practice at UTS. With complementary backgrounds—Huyen with an MBA in Business Administration, Alyssia with a Master’s in Educational Technology and a career in teaching—they brought both heart and precision to their work. Soon after, Eric, Alyssia’s husband, joined the team, bringing his experience in Australian small business and a commitment to seeing students and families thrive.
At Ember, we believe migration advice should be honest, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. We’re here to offer clarity in a system that can feel overwhelming, and to make sure your goals are supported every step of the way.
We’re not the biggest agency. But we promise to care deeply, work diligently, and treat your journey like it’s our own.

The Master of Small Things
Hi! I'm Eric. I am originally for the United States and have travelled the world, living and teaching in China, Korea, Qater and now Australia. Once we moved to Tasmania I started working in small business, first at a small diesel heater shop and then with a plant nursery co operative. I combine my love of education with my experience in small business to help Ember Migration with all of the behind-the-scenes things. If you need to talk about anything education related, I can help. I have a Doctorate in Education and am a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor.
